Recently bought a used Wixom Fairing #11BB Ranger at a second hand store to mount on my Savage. I need helpfrom all you old timers out there with the mountings. I looked in a couple salvage yards and found a similar ome that was had a single mount on the lower triple tree and 2 on the upper end of the fork tubes. No windshield was left so the question is were there only 3 points of mounting or 5? Also does anyone have any idea what material was applied on the inside of the fiberglass to smooth it. What is there is flaking off and is unidentifiable. A new windshield is available off the net, but make cut down my existing one as the curve looks very close. Any ideas or experiences would be helpfull. I think the white fork fairing will look great with the white bags I've already installed.
Also got a Vetter Vindicator w/o shield, but the shield for it was lying by the Wixom and I got it for $2. Anyone know what model this fits? It is frame mounted and would overwhelm the Savage I think. Thanks in advance. Max
